“Boxes” is a coming-of-age song about all the things you didn’t realize you’d left behind while growing up. Acoustic Americana vibes meet an 80’s synth pop-inspired beat. I’m on the precipice of my fourth decade, and I was inspired to write this song because I realized that I’ve kept in touch with so few people from my past lives.

The 3rd installment of my '12 Months/12 Songs' project in 2024.

Snapshots I’ve kept filed away
Since I stood four and a half feet high
Seems I've had more friends turn to strangers
Than strangers turn to friends
So why not move along again?

And hope this rusty bucket of bolts
Will make it to the next town
But somewhere along the journey
A few more things fall out
